Christmas and New Year bin collection dates 2020/2021

Rochford District residents continue to be amongst the best in England when it comes to recycling, and we would like to say a big thank you for all your help.

With Christmas only just around the corner, it is more important than ever that we try to minimise our waste and recycle as much as possible.

There will be changes to your normal collection days over the festive period so please check the table below to see if you are affected.

Recyclables and compostables

Please note there will be no compostables collections from Friday 25 December 2020, we will resume the collection on Saturday 2nd January 2021. There will ONLY be Non-recyclable and recyclable bin collections between this period.

Normal collections will resume week commencing Monday 4th January 2021.

Limited side waste left beside your bin will be collected over the Christmas period as follows:

·       RECYCABLES – Two clear/see-through sacks containing recyclables

·       NON-RECYCLABLES – Two plastic sacks or bags

These will be collected from Tuesday 29th December until Thursday 7th January inclusive. No additional side waste or plastic sacks of any kind will be collected before or after these dates.

Real Christmas trees can be cut up and placed inside your compostables bin with the lids shut or disposed of at the recycling centre at Castle Road, Rayleigh.

Rochford District Council would like to wish all residents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
