Look Out for Your Poll Cards

Your poll card tells you which polling station you should use to vote on 2 May, but you do not need your poll card to vote.

If you don’t receive your poll card by 5th April 2019, please check that you’re registered to vote by contacting the council’s Electoral Services team on [email protected] or by calling 01702 318187.

You can register to vote online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. It only takes a few minutes.

If you have moved recently, you should have re-registered at your new address.

The deadline for registering to vote at the upcoming local election is midnight on 12 April.

All United Kingdom, European Union and Commonwealth citizens are eligible to vote in the Local Election, as long as they are 18 or over on polling day.

How to vote

Your polling station will be open from 7am until 10pm on election day. Your poll card will include details of your named polling station.  A full list of polling stations will be available online at www.rochford.gov.uk/elections2019  from 5 April.

Can’t get to the polling station?

Anyone who is registered to vote can apply to have their ballot paper sent to them in the post. To apply, visit the Your Vote Matters website, download the relevant form and return  Your Vote Matters website a scanned copy of the form to [email protected]

The deadline to return the postal vote form or written notifications of changes to existing postal or proxy arrangements is 5pm on Monday 15 April.

If you wish to apply for a new proxy vote application (someone to vote on your behalf)  please visit Your Vote Matters website, the deadline to return the proxy vote form is 5pm on Wednesday 25 April
