ECC Bus Services Consultation

Essex County Council are pleased to announce the launch of the Public Consultation on Supported Local Bus Services, and we would greatly appreciate your support in promoting it widely within your communities.

Bus services are important to all of us. An effective bus network helps all communities to thrive by:

  • supporting economic growth by getting people to work, training and school.
  • supporting an improved Essex environment through the reduction of air quality and carbon emissions.
  • allowing young people, older people and those with disabilities or without cars to travel.
  • helping to support diverse and thriving communities and
  • helping to combat loneliness and isolation

Please note: The majority of buses in Essex, around 85% of the network, are operated commercially and this consultation does not include commercial bus services.
